You said you had spent a while in the site too....what is your surname I could quite possibly know you, I was on site from 5 years onwards.
Vicky
We were the Bullock family from Doncaster - started going there in 1964 I believe it was and continued going there Easter, Whit and 2 weeks in August right up to 1987 when my dad died. The party usually consisted in later years of mum and dad in their van with my younger sister and cousin, my brother and his wife in a van and their 2 boys in a tent, me and my hubby in a van with our 2 boys - and our 2 Jack Russells (which people remember more than they remember us!!), my younger brother and his wife in a tent - they came up by motorbike. Quite often there would be friends of my parents joining the party with their vans. Depending on your age, you may have made friends with some of us!!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Sorry for the delay in replying. I didnt start going up till about 1985, probably wouldnt have known you, I was only a tot. I loved the place, made friends with a lot of people, there must have been about 15-20 of us all in - unfortunately times change and people grow up - really miss the place at times though..was my childhood playground.
I remember going on the Forestry commission site there in the mid 60's with mum and dad in a caravan.Me mum used to cook a proper Sunday lunch....I seem to recall we dident have a cooker with with an oven as you have now but a collapsable tin affair that sat on the cooker rings! There were some great forest walks from there and as someone previously said you could watch the submarines surfacing in the loch.Great place then, don't suppose its changed much.
