Hi all,

Thinking of booking Craig Tara for September weekend, any advice? Only one review and from someone who stayed in a static van but no mention of camping facilities. Looking for info on pitches (i.e are we perched halfway up a hill!) and also toilets/showers. Entertainment not a real concern as kids will enjoy whatever is at hand but dont really want to book blind without some feedback.

any more up to date reviews, there is one on the directory but i would appreciate any more as we are going in a weeks time, we were very cheap so if its bad we can just up sticks and go somewhere else

We had 3 statics at Craig Tara, Not sure about loos and stuff but entertainment and pool,kids clubs all great.

The camping part is close to the entrace, fab view.  It is a walk down the bank the the entertainment complex.

September weekend is very busy we always had to turn loads of people away.

We drove in the gate late last year, about turned and drove straight out agan.

The touring area is right by the gate and next to a very busy main road. From what I remember, there was no grass in the touring area, just gravel As a campsite, it looked appauling. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I can only tell you what we saw.

Instead we went to the Walled Garden near Maybole. This is basically seasonal but a very friendle crowd and there is a Clubhouse with Carpet Bowls on a Fri eve and a singalong type thing on the Sat eve. There is a large play area also.
