We're off to Thurston Manor this weekend, there are 2 reviews on this website, just wondered if anyone has been there recently.  I'm particularly worried about one review that said the ground was extremely hard for pegs, can anyone back this up or advise otherwise?

Thanks for your time.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Wilson's

We have been there a couple of times recently, the last time was last weekend for three nights. I can confirm the ground is very hard. There are a lot of stones a couple of inches under the surface. We use rock type pegs when we are there which go in ok. We usually manage to get the thicker wire ones in as well.

On the whole it is quite a good site but the pool is quite small and you would be better going to the lesuire pool in Dunbar which works out at the same price.

cheers Slowmo
