can anyone recommend a good campsite on the southern edge of the peak district for this weekend?  (ashbourne / leek area). one with a pub close by would be good but not keen on these big faily parks with big club houses etc...

I have seen a few reviews, but there are quite a few sites with no reviews in that area or reviews done a few yrs ago...

Bank top Farm at Fenny Bentley is a basic farm site, with village pub at bottom of lane, Rivendale is rather more upmarket with more amenities - I suppose it depends on taste and budget...and where there might still be vacancies!

We went to grouse and claret at bakewell, nice location, next to pub but it was SOOOO busy, the campsite that is.  Greenhills looked nice though, also in Bakewell....love this area!

Can recommend Lime Trees Park on the south side of Buxton. Fantastic site, well maintained with excellent facilities, and not too big.
