Hi, would just like to know what everybody thinks is the best caravan site in the sunny North (apologies to the South), a site that caters for caravanners with young kids that need to be kept amused!! (so a good play area is essential)

Upto now I have Windy Harbour nr Blackpool as my no1 site, but I'm new to caravanning and aint got out and about that much so far!! (If I'm honest its the only one I've been to!!!) So i'd love to know the best sites are..........

Feed back much appreciated.17

Cheers

There's hundreds!!!!!

Personal favourites are Rudding Park (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2801) and Holgates (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1625).

Both have great facilities for adults and kids.

Would agree with you on Holgates a top site well run but at around £30 per night not cheap.

Als - enjoy the search.

Yes £30 per night is painful but all singing-all dancing sites tend to be up in that range unfortunately.  Personally I prefer a cold beer, a good book and a lovely view but OH and son like all the facilities sigh.

How far North is North? Probably the best overall site I've used so far is the North Ledaig Caravan Club site near Oban, but that's not all that far north really. In terms of proper north then I'd probably have to say that the Scourie Camping and Caravan Park is very good, and Sango Sands at Durness is also pretty decent.
