Sorry, its been a few years since we were there, but as no one else has replied yet here is my opinion.  We stayed at Pomeroy in 2000.  It was spring bank hol. and this was the only site we could find with vacancies last minute.  It had all the usual amenities which were clean and well kept.  The owners were very friently and helpful.  If you like a meal and a drink, you can walk to the Duke of York pub or a bit further on there is the Bull I' 'th Thorn, (unusual bar menu, lots of atmosphere, haunted by Dick Turpin, lol).  There is direct access to the High Peak Trail (though this is down quite a steep bank which was a bit of struggle with the bike).

Have a good weekend Mark, why not send in a reveiw of the site when you get back, it will be helpful to others as there aren't any at the moment.
