We have just come back from Cornwall having stayed at Trevaylor in Botallack (Near Land's End).  A lovely little campsite although the shower block could be improved.  Shower blocks seem to be a bit of a problem in Cornwall.  I have only encountered one really good shower block and they have close for camping (Trelowarren).

We called into Treen campsite which is in the most fabulous location.  It is not possible to book.  You just turn up from 8.30 when the shop opens and put your name on a list and if anyone moves off by 10.30 you will get a space, if not tough luck.  They did say they could recommend sites you could stay in meanwhile. You can also telephone to check how busy they are.  I would imagine that for a bank holiday it will be pretty full some days before hand, especially if the weather is good.
