The Travellers Rest is open all year round as far as I know - don't know why you have been told that it is seasonal.

My brother has just been across there and said that there was a sign saying it was open from may till sept, thought it was a bit odd. Glad to here that its open all year as didnt fancy the hill back up to gillside after a lil evening drink, Travellers Rest so much nearer less staggering

I will check again for you. Maybe I'm wrong and it is only open on certain nights. It is definitely open on Wednesday nights through the winter because they have a ladies darts league which is played on a Wednesday. (Sadly, I'm a darts player). There is also a darts league played on Sunday nights.
It is a steep hill though isn't it! You could always go down into Glenridding itself where there are 2 more pubs but then that would be an even longer struggle back up the hill with a few pints on board!
