We live in mid Cornwall, and stay at Polmanter at least 3/4 times a year. Love the place, best site we stay on . However, we only visit outside the manic weeks - end July to end August.
Have driven around Perran Spings - wouldn't bother.
The reviews speak for themselves. We went last year and have already booked for next year, it really is a lovely site, fantastic facilities, lovely staff, close to a lovely beach and well placed for Cornwall's major attractions.
Have a look (if you haven't already!)

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Never stayed at any of them but did spend an afternoon noseying around Polmanter last summer and it is my dream to have an actual holiday there. The pitches looked evenly spread out and of good size. Some more private than others. Play areas were small and dotted around at various places. Pool loolked lovely and clean. Loos and shower blocks looked spotless and the staff were very helpful and happy to show us around.
Haven't stayed at any of those but have stayed at Little Trevarrack, The family that own this site also own polmanter, brothers or something can't remember what they said now, any way love little Trevarrack, going back next year. Polmanter has a lot more on site, depends what you like to have on your site. I personally don't need pools when staying near the beach or entertainment.
We have stayed on Perran Springs, and your phrase "wouldn’t bother" is unnecessary. Perran Springs is a great site.
However I suppose if you like sites that are big, full of clubs, and cramped I wouldn’t bother either, as Perran Springs has none of these.
What Perran Springs does have, is great countryside views an excellent shower room, shop, laundry, hot water throughout the site and great fishing lakes.
Just look at the reviews on this site, they speak for themselves, and also visit Perran Springswebsite.
Out of all the sites we stay on, it is one of the friendliest.
I have been past Polmanter, this also looks like a nice site. Been on Trevornick, it is right next to Holywell Bay Leisure Park, again a nice site, but we prefer the quiet sites
(mis read trevella for trevornick - never been to this one, sorry)

Phew! What a relief, my fave site wasn't shortlisted....lol Me not tellin'! At least not till we've managed to book OUR pitch-lol
But anywhere in Cornwall's gr8 with us! Love the place to bits. ALL of it.
Btw, what weeks are you looking to go? Only asking so that I can make sure we try not to book same times so that you'll still stand some chance of relatively decent weather which you won't have if we're there And still we go back!
My name's hippy chick and I am a ukcs addict......
i have stayed at trevella a few times and loved it . a bit of a continental feel i thought . my son at the time loved the fishing . no evening entertainmrnt, small swimming pool , very well run site. close to crantock beach. and if you like walking at low tide you can walk across the field down the gannel to the beach at crantock. (this is quite a walk). not far outside newquay, and other beaches in the area.
thanks have just tried to book polmanter for 3 weeks next year only to be told they have no pitches as they have all been pre booked but to ring back later in the year as people had till end of october to decide if they definately want their pitch. i couldn't believe they had no pitches a year in advance.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
