Can anyone recommend a camp site in the peak district that allows a camp fire. Can't seem to find any information at all. If you know of, or have seen a camp fire lit, please let me know.

Little Green Street Farm in Alport near Youlgreave allows camp fires.
It's basically a field, 1 toilet and shower and thats it. They charge about £3 a person. campers and tents only.
Should be suitable. there is only one toilet and shower so it's really only suitable for a weekend.
The nearest pubs are in Youlgreave (theres a choice of five) just under a mile away by road, a lot closer if you walk along the river.
It's shown on the OS Explorer Maps. They don't take booking.
I am going to stay on Friday night and will get full details then, but as I am on my way to Scotland I won't be able to post details until I return on 10th Oct.
Thanks a lot some of the club fancy that ,think we will give it a go, have map ,only about 1 hr from here for us, will take beers and logs for the evening and try the pubs as well. enjoy scotland
Bonze
ps we stayed on asite in the isle of islay camped in the dunes ,log fire overlooking a beach about a mile long ,drinking wine under the stars ,fantastic
This is q question that comes up almost (but not quite) as often as questions about tents sold on Ebay, so I'll try to give an answer based on what I have found, as quite a few people might find it useful.
I tend to either use small farm sites with basic facilities or camp in the wild. Most small farm sites will allow you to make a fire in a kettle barbeque. I rarely come across any that allow "open" camp fires. Of larger sites I use, the only two I can immediately think of that allow any sort of fire are Shell Island and Gibraltar Farm. The latter again insists on kettle barbeques, but if you haven't got one then the site provides a limited number and they can be found behind the toilet block. When wild camping in a small group, we sometimes dig a shallowish pit, build a fire in there, and then fill it in when we leave.
Occassionally, when camping solo, I will ask a farmer if I can pitch in a field for the night. Having gained permission, I never push my luck and ask permission to make a fire, so I can't really advise one way or the other. There might be others who can.

Hope you have a good time.
The OS Ref for the site is SK224637. Its on the road out from Alport, there is just a small sign at the entrance that is very easy to miss if theres no one else there. As I said it's just a field. One tap, One toilet/shower.The fires are allowed in a couple of pits on the site. You may not see the farmer as he seems to collect money via an honesty box on the barn wall or come round in his Landrover.
As to pubs I recommend the one oppersite the chuch.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
