My friends go every year, about four families go and they book the statics. They have never had a bad time yet. They say the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic.
Been twice ourselves in our tourer (but not New Year) and can honestly say this is a very nice site. Something for everyone.
to get back to Fathands original post you will find that this sites reviews are divided I think it all depends on what type of site you prefer, I cant comment as professionally I have to deal with the site but the fact you find it fully booked should give you a clue if that is your type of site.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We dont normally go for this type of site, but with it being Winter and Xmas, we thought that if the weather was naff, at least the kids could have somewhere to play inside and there seems plenty for them to do. (and adults in the evening).
likewise we dont go for this type of site as it gets a bit to busy and a bit of a Butlins but when some sites say family run you can take that with a pinch of salt ( family run from Spain or whatnot ) Stanwix on the other hand is most certainly run by the family. Eric and Roland started more years than they will care to remember carrying the visitors suitcases from the old train station ( ask at reception where that is ) to the local B&B's, they live locally and are at the site from early morning till the club shuts. The family and staff keep the site in good nick but when you have that type of busy site you will always get the small minority of idiot that spoil it for everyone else, I hope that is not the case when you go, tell me when you are planning to go and if you have UKCS sticker I will look out for it.
We are going up on Thursday 29th December and returning on the Bank Hol Monday. I will see Omega this weekend about getting a ukcs sticker. I only hope the minority is not us lot - after a few drinkys . Likewise we will watch out for you, I gather you will be there on business then and not camping? but still come over for a chat and a cuppa.
I enjoy a small refreshment myself, although she who must be obeyed will say its more like large refreshments. On the subject of stickers, I have yet to see one on any of the sites I have visited and I am always on the lookout. My lads stick ours in the front window as soon as we arrive and I wrote my forum name on it as well. It would be nice way of introducing fellow posters if it doesnt sound a bit like train spotting.
Thats a good idea putting one of the stickers in your front window with your forum name on it. If your both there, come over and meet everyone, there will be at least myself and my cousins family there, and possibly Bluenoses(Sue) and her hubby and lads. I'm sure we could spare a couple of T- bags ( or the odd bucket of beer).
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
