We went to Unity in October when it was quieter so i could do a bit of fishing and we went to Dickies every night. We stayed on the green field and the minibus collected us everynight from the toilet block.
The shows were brilliant, i recorded what we call the Goodnight song at the end of the shows when the staff got on the stage and sung, my kids use it as a ring tone.lol Me and my wife and 3 daughters thoroughly enjoyed it and we are allready planning to return in 2006 but it will be mid summer because its brilliant value for money.
We stayed in brean twice last year, Unity at Easter which we enjoyed but we could `nt get into the club house as it was packed out and Northam Farm in the summer hols this site is also very good we went on one of their bus tours to Glastonbury, which included a visit to a cider farm and canal boat ride all for a tenner each excellent value, they also have a free bus into Cheddar on a tuesday in peak season. The market there was very large and also there is the fun fair for the kids, we enjoyed having a drink in the Ocean view beer garden (I think thats the right name?) its got excellent views of the bristol channel and Wales.Burnham on Sea is not very far away for shopping etc. Some people love Brean others hate it, we love it and will definetly be going there this year, hopefully we`ll get into see Mr Mayhem this time.
Hi Mr Mayhem Yes it was Dickes family room, was`nt suprised it was packed as it was easter bank holiday weekend, there was six (4 kids) of us though, this has`nt put us off, we will be returning sometime this year after april when my wife has had baby number 5!!!
Best wishes
Tony
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I stayed at Brean Sands Pontins in 1969! and wanted to go back to Brean to rekindle old memories. So, we tent-camped at Diamond Farm for a weekend in June 2004, Campsite was very cheap (£6 per night) and OK for what it was, a weekend away.
Like others, I hated Brean, and only ventured into one pub on the Friday night after we arrived. We had one drink and left, as it wasn't our kind of place. Didn't go to Dickies or anything similar as we are a child-free couple so that is definitely not our scene.
We enjoyed Burham on Sea, and spent anOKafternoon in Weston trying to dodge torrential rain showers, and trying to make the best of it. Can't say I'd hurry back there, and I won't be going to the meet in March, as the curiosity is now sated and we are pretty much all Breaned out...
It is a boy but I do`nt think we`ll call him dickie, will definetly meet up with you when we`re down Brean have you got internet access when your down there so we can get in touch.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
