hi Cliff top at hornsea is as near to the beach as you can get without being swept away by the tide ( well except in bad weather possibly  ) there are a lot of people who sea fish on that beach its very popular!

Muasdale, Kintyre is my favourite beachside site. The beach is lovely and flat not very tidal at all. Rocks for fishing and rockpooling and usually seals on an evening.

Have a look at their website http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3623

Travel to the West Coast of Scotland to Big Sand Gairloch where the kids can have great fun in safe water. Beautiful sand for miles on the site with sand dunes. You can fish at the site or travel for a few miles to the harbour in Gairloch, once featured in  a TV fishing programme, to fish or take a boat out in Loch Gairloch. Try it once and you will keep returning.

There's also St Bees in Cumbria - down the road from me. You can't get any closer than this site to the sea.  My husband goes sea-fishing there himself.  Nice beach, cliffside walks, golf-course.  Near Whitehaven which has a great marina. Not far from Ennerdale Lake, Carlisle, Cockermouth.  Lots going on up here. It's listed on here as Seacote. Good luck

Roz

Hi raindog there is a little site in south sheilds that is 1 minute walk from a good size beach and the pier is about 5 minutes walk.

The site is called sandhaven .
