Help! Looking to go to lakes with our folding camper but need to be close to an area the grandparents can get BB accomadation. Have looked at a few sites but we are not a member of the caravan club and need toilets and showers. We have a toodler and are worried about safety of sites. All the sites we have looked at seem quite pricey has anyone got a favorite site? We were looking to stay around Ambleside/Coniston area or somewhere new if you have any ideas.
Thanks for any help.

Hi ,try the Caravan Club site at Conniston,Park Coppice,Have been there several times and is great for toddlers, lovely play areas especially for little ones, also nice and safe,Conniston will have BB accomodation and only a couple of mins drive or a lovely half hour walk through a path on the fieldst,This site also takes non members although you could join with your folding camper.
Hope you find somewhere suitable and have a lovely time
Try Fallbarrow at Bowness on Windermere, fantastic site right on thw edge of Bowness a magic wee village and should have plenty b+b's for the grandies!

The Croft caravan and camping park in Hawkshead is a fav of ours. its right in the village so close for BB for the grandparents and is genreally a good site with clean toilets etc. the village is lovely too.
The CC has sites all over Britain and some link-ups with sites in Eire and mainland Europe, allowing you to book these sites through them. They publish 2 site books on Europe which list lots of sites reviewed by members, and when you join you get a UK site book with all the CC sites, all the CLs (5 van members only sites), and some commercial sites. If you use a CC site for 5 or 6 nights in any year then it is worth joining as non-members pay £5 to £7 extra per night.
