I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of a campsite with a cottage to rent nearby, around Robin Hoods Bay/Whitby area. Our two families want to holiday together, but family 2 (5 people) need a cottage this year because they have an old dog who will have to be left in the cottage if we have a day out. Family 1 (4 people) will camp. Cottages for all of us seem to be few & far between and already booked up.

Abbots House Farm at Goathland do camping and have the Farmhouse to rent. It's a very basic campsite though and not to everyones taste but I love it there. The site itself is accessed from the centre of the village and the North Yorks Moors railway runs through it. Whitby is only 10 mins down the road in car. They are in the Campsite search and have a website which you can link to from there.
Most places no matter if its a cottage or caravan wont let you leave a dog in unattended. What about a park that has Dog Kennels for when you want to go out, there arent that many but there are a few, & they look after the dog whilst you are out.
