We are thinking of going to Park resorts lower hyde site on the Isle of Wight in July. There is only one review which was when they were doing the site up. We have children age 12 and 14 and are looking for a lively site with entertainment. Does anyone have any more feedback?

Also how long would it take to walk to Languard holiday site from here as my brother in law will be staying here. But my kids want amusements and this site doesnt have them so thats why we are looking at lower hyde.

Would appreciate your comments.

Hi

we stayed in a static caravan back in June last year,  Were not sure what the camoing site is like but we enjoyed ourselves, the pool etc was good.

Was a fantastic base for Shanklin and Sandown, which we think has a beutiful beach.

Cant remember where Langurad was, if its the caravan site at the end of the drive it wasnt too far away.

anyway I hope this helps!

Landguard is virtually next door ( 2 minute walk ).  I went there in about September last year and it was still being done up but looked fine.  It was supposed to be ready for February this year.  I quite like the park resorts sites and have stayed at Lower Hyde many times.  The entertainment is ok, not brilliant but ok.  Some nights are good and some nigths are bad.  The tent site is fairly open and does suffer from breezes and they used to have porta loos and showers which we found ok.  They were usually clean.  The food is quite expensive, but you are only a 5 minute walk from Shanklin and 10 minutes from Shanklin old village which has loads of places to eat.  The staff are good and basically we have never had a problem there.
