Have been to butlins Skeggy appartments for the last five years, We called them earlier this year about the touring site and were told they are no longer accepting tourers. However went for a weekend at half term and all the touring signs, hook-ups ect are still there. we are back again in june so will have to try and get a definate answer then for next time.

I phoned up a few weeks ago, it's not actually Butlins that deal with the touring side of things, but they are deffo still doing it. They have sent me a booking form out in the post. The number you need to phone is 01754 762311. The lady seemed quite helpful. But as I said I don't think the Tourer Booking Office has anything to do with the main Butlins Booking Office.
Thinking of taking your tourer to Butlins Skegness??...FORGET IT, ITS DISGUSTING!!!
We have gone to butlins skeg for years, in fact we are going eng of March for the weekend (silver apts)..fantastic place for a holiday with the kids, spent most of my childhood hols at Butlins filey but the touring field......wow it woz a 1st for us.
1.... electric box tied together with rope and insulating tape
2...dirty disgusting 'toilets', they are old porta cabins with broken windows and ripped showr curtains so all & sundry can see you showering!
3... foul pitches in dire need of some cash spent on them.
In our opinion if you take your tourer you are definately treated as a second class citizen, they aint making the money on you so they aint interested!
Try Skegness sands just a walk down the road (beach side) this is a caravan club site. Beautifully kept always busy...............Butlins are a definate no no for touring. We were warned but decided to try it anyway..........wont again.
We havebeen to butlins a few times and yes the loo's/Showers arnt the best but I have been to some sites with naff facilities .My kids love butlins and I'm surewe'll be back at some point.
Also a very big pluss point was we had been in Scotland and picked my mum back up on route home and stopped of at butlins for a few days my mum got rushed into hospital the day we was leaving .Butlins gave us a couple of nights free until we found a site closer to Boston hospital.Service like that is hard to find in this day and age when companys are out for them selfs.
So they get a big from me !

Hi xxtinaxx when did you stay there? I know a few peeps that have stayed there recently but have not heard anything as bad as what your saying about it. We went last year and stayed in the Silver appts but didn't take any notice of the touring part, although we met a lot of peeps there, we never heard any complaints about it
I think if you want a hol at Butlins go for their own accommadation... I can't comment on the facilities only that when we passed it didn't appeal at all to me. The price for a start put me off. I don't mind rallys in field (attend a few a year) but the price is reflected in the fact that there are no showers, loos etc., We stayed a Butlins in silver accommodation around four years ago and it was ok... we were half board and the food was good, warm and basic. The kids enjoyed it so everyone was happy.
I have to agree xxtinaxx that Skegness Sands is a lovely site we stay at this site two years ago and the facilities are great. There is direct access onto the beach, you are given a key on check in as the gate is locked as is the vechicle entrance from six each night.... You then have to access by the static entrance. Butlins is within walking distance from the site. I'm sure that there are many other sites within the area that are nice too.
Hi we stayed on the touring section in July 04............we were like you as in we have been to Butlins Skeggie many many times but have never really taken any notice of the touring part. (the touring site was originally the old self catering blocks that they pulled down about 7 years ago. All that side was the 'red camp' i know having stayed in these ourselves. it is now the touring and static caravan site.) As i said b4 we are offf again at the end of this month for the weekend. We love Butlins, both me and my hubbie grew up on holidays at Filey (ahh the memories!) and we love the changes that have been made over the years BUT for Butlins to be taken seriously for touring holidays they really need to buck their ideas up and be realistic about the prices they charge. I know it cost us well above the avarage price for our pitch per night.
Dont know if this is of interest but you can take dogs aswell. They put you further back away from the main touring part and they are not allowed into the main park, so really theres not a lot of point taking them cause they have to be left at the van all the time, and you certainly dont want to be stuck at the van when you have paid their prices to stay there.
We met some people at a site in Scarbro and they warned us about Butlins touring but we thought it couldnt be that bad, we know the place well and decided to go for it. I suppose you have to try these things yourself. When we go in a few weeks i will take a walk over that side and have a look to see if theirs any imporovements......i doubt it!!
