I am sorry if my comments have upset you clearly have a different experiance.
My point was that the girl I spoke to was a polished individual that could answer no technical queries nor could she direct me to someone that could. On the C&CC I was directed immediately to three experts who were smartly dressed but less corporate.
At the end of the day maybe I got unlucky also I admit I do not like the corporate image when I look at camping. And at heart I am a camper whose ideal pitch is in a field away from hookups.
It is great we are all different it just shows why there is a need for two organisations we are all different. Can we shake hands across the airways......am sorry if my comments have offended.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Its not a question me being personally offended, I have been on internet forums for too many years for that. However I have noticed a tendency for people to have a go at the Caravan Club, for all sorts of reasons and some might even be justified!!! I just try and inject the voice of reason into the discussion albeit at times a little tongue in cheek! The solution is easy as you suggest belong to the one that suits you best. I am not a member, or have much knowledge of the CC&C so therefore tend not to pass comment. Even I would encourage contributors here to join one or both of the Clubs because they are in an ideal position to protect our hobby and represent us. I like my caravan as no doubt you like your outfit but I am not perhaps as back to nature as you. My caravan gives me the means to travel all over the UK or mainly now Europe in a great deal of comfort. What more would I want.
I think the two clubs are very different in many way, the caravan club appears to have a lot more 'services' it seems to want to offer most of which I have found are not that competitive, they both have pros and cons but I think they both provide what we all need between them

Like as been said we are all different and have different expectations. Both clubs have their rules and their fees, no-one is forced to join either. Take a look at both web-sites, ask questions of existings members, and if it doesn't suit you, don't join. I am a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club, any questions?
I would have liked to join both but the CC told me there would be no point in me joining( I have a tent) as tenters pay the same rates whether members or non members and both can book over the phone. Fair enough. Did say I could join nevertheless.I havn't.
However after a lot of thought I have joined the CCC and am waiting for all the bits and pieces.
