Help

looking for good campsite in north yorkshire (pickering, scarborough etc) for a first time camper with two young children

I have looked in the A Rogers guide and found useful sites but would prefer recommendations from all you tent buddies with big 8-9 man tents.

Yes i know great big tent and only half full but we do want to bring friends and family along later.

Hi ianick, welcome to the site. Depends on what you expect from a site but Upper carr site near pickering is a good one, it has agood play area for the kids, it's got chickens that wander around and it's quite a relaxed site. I am not sure if you want all the extras like a club, pool e.t.c if so thi isn't the place for you. Have a look on the camp site search there is a lot to choose from in that area.

try looking for black bull campsite on malton road nothing to fancy nice park depending on ages of kids shower block a bit dated but it is a lovely site nice and relaxing and not overpriced we went last august for a week for six of us two dogs with electrics £13.00 a night my kids love it and you can keep an eye on them depends how old the kids are the other good thing if pickering is busy with traffic it is only about a 20 min stroll from pickering
