Might possibly be spending a week at Crofton near Dawlish and there is some on-site fishing!! Has anyone fished there? - if so whats it like? Also is there any other sites down that way with any on-site fishing?

Not a fisherman myself, but Peppermint Park has some on site fishing, you're also not too far away from the Exeter canal which may be a further option. It certainly has a good towpath if you choose to cycle to Exeter.
Don't know whether it would be classed as S Devon, but there is a place near Holsworthy, called Chilla; there is a holiday place there and I think they take caravans and tents, but not sure.
They have about 5 lakes.
