Hello, I am thinking of going campsite on St.Mary's, Scilly Isles some time in August. As no cars are allowed on the islands I have been advised that your equipment is shipped over on the ferry in a container and that the campsite owners meet you when you arrive and transport you and your luggage to the site. I wondered if anyone can tell me how difficult/easy this actually is. I am new to camping, 2 short but successful trips last September. The problem is that even though there are just the 2 of us (me and my 8 year old son) there is still a car load of stuff to take and I am concerned about labelling it up for a container and worried that it will not get mixed up with other people's stuff. I would appreciate some advice from somebody who has actually done this!
Thanks for any help.
Regards,

Hi We've not been yet but my husband and I and 4 kids! are keen to go camping on the Scilly Isles so like you would be interested in hearing from anyone whos done it or from you if you decide to give it a go this summer! Nikki
Hello Nikki, there must be someone out there who has already done it! I will be in Padstow this weekend (cottage not camping) and may be going to St.Mary's on the ferry as a foot passenger as they are doing an £18 day return at the moment. I will have a look at the campsite and see if I am brave enough to go it alone in the summer!
Well I can't believe that there is no one out there who has been to the Scillies Camping.I look forward to hearing from you after the weekend hope you have a good time. Nikki

We too are going to the Isles of Scilly in July this year - Have not been camping there since I was a child when I went most years with my parants where we had no trouble with transporting gear as this is all taken care of by the campsite owners - the fact that there are so few visitors compared to many places in the UK that your belongings are easy to track.
Fingers crossed it is still the same - nevertheless still a fantastic place to spend a relaxing holiday.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
