Hi all.

Just read the thread about Pembrokeshire as we are thinking of going.Great advice!

Does anyone have any idea of the situation with allowing dogs on the beaches there?......it does rather affect our plans!

We hope to go end June sometime.

We have visited Saundersfoot/Tenby many times.  Last year stayed at Croft Park in Kilgetty and can highly recommend it.  Very private pitches - EHU - hedges on either side of each pitch, quite a small, personal site with lovely staff and fairly good but always very clean facilites. They have a sister site, Noble Court near Narbeth which has an indoor pool that we are considering this year for a change.

We visited Pembrokeshire last year and stayed at Mill House. We have 2 dogs and made it a daily trip to Pendyne sands just a couple of miles away from the site. The beach is partly sectioned off and owned by the MOD. But it is great for dogs. They can run for ever and the sea leaves little creeks where they can paddle to their hearts content. In season there is also a very dog friendly cafe which is just at the side of the ramp and overlooks the sea. We used to run the dogs and then go up to the cafe where they will bring water for the dogs and sit outside and enjoy value for money drinks and meals. You can also visit the 'visit pembrokeshire' website which details which beaches are dog friendly but there are a lot, it is only the really busy ones that are not, and frankly I'd rather stay away from those.

Have a lovely time

Louise

I've stayed in Pembrokeshire near Tenby and Cornwall - St Ives.

Some will tell you that Pembrokeshire is Wales' Cornwall.

Much as I like Pembrokeshire AND Wales in general, for me Pembrokeshire can't hold a candle to Cornwall.

Sorry............

Vic

Hi

My van is sited for the season on a quiet site 2 minutes up the road from Folly Farm, in Cold Blow, called Wood Office.  They have privately owned statics, seasonal tourers, plenty of room for weekend tourers, and a huge field for tents with some EHUs.  No clubhouse or pool, but they have showers and a shop.  Its level and extremely safe for kids, with a small play area and lots of room to run around.

The Pembrokeshire tourist info site has a section on taking dogs on the beaches. It lists all of the beaches that allow dogs. Most beaches do allow dogs in one specific area and will have a sign showing dogs allowed to the left of the sign and no dogs to the right of it. The website shows the same info in map form.

I have just had 3 nights at Little Kings along with 4 other families from our village - The pitch was huge, the staff friendly, the site was well kept.   The weather was so good we didn't use the bar much but it seemed a good place to take cover if the weather didn't facilitate the outdoor life.

The view from the camping field is over Monkton Pt to Caldey Island, Lundy and Devon - there are superb beaches a short drive away and the Indian takeawy in Pendine is VERY good - Far better than the chippy.

All 5 families would be happy to return.
