Going to Park Coppice (Coniston) a week tomorrow, any ideas of best place to 'do a shop' when we get up there, have seen Booths at Windermere and Asda at Barrow, any other suggestions wecome. Thanks. Quite happy to go to a High Street with nice local shops.

Booths at Windermere, [which is next to a great big Lakeland!] is good, and convenient, which is more than can be said for Barrow, a long way out of your way. Alternatively, try Kendal - also on your direct route - has Morrisons with cheap [ish] fuel, plus M&S plus, plus plus whatever you want.
Ambleside also ok for shops, especially of the 'walkers' variety.
Or pop-off the M6, south bound link to Preston and go to Sainsburys on the A6, easy access to/from M6.

But it´s all right now, I learned my lesson well.

Hi sue we too are going next weekend we will probably see you there. We always do our shop here at asda and take it with us, only there 3 days and the park coppice shop does bread and milk etc so we should manage without a shop.
Coniston lake is at the bottom of the site, 2 mins walk if you are pitched at the bottom 10 mins walk if pitched at the top. There is nothing at that lake there though, it's a 10 min car ride 25/30 min walk to boat hire and jetty etc. The village is a 10/15 min walk from the site for a couple of pubs etc.
Hope that helps, see you there

Thanks, Amy, we're really looking forward to it, just been on 15 day forecast and the weather is looking pretty good too, really looking forward to taking daughters Dog, I think he will really enjoy it, just hope he's a good boy for us, I think he will, he has been to puppy classes and I expect he will be tired out with the walking.

There is a fair few shops in Coniston that will sell erverything you will need, If we don't support the local shops then I'm affraid we will go to them one day and find they are no longer there.
Cheers everyone, really do like shopping in 'local' shops love things like nice bread and cheeses and home made pickles so Coniston sounds great for us. Only 5 sleeps to go
