we were members of english heritage when we went last year and got into most of the castles free apart from bamburgh and alnwick. Warkworth, Aydon Castle, dunstanburgh and the priory on lindifsarne was english heritage, we had to pay to get into the castle on lindisfarne as that is national trust and we weren't members. Have to agree with you Jeanann about the castle on lindisfarne, me and OH would love to have lived there
