Stayed in a relatives static just outside whitley bay last year and enjoyed it around whitley bay and tynemouth but i can't find anywhere that takes tents just caravans. Does anyone know if there are any campsites round this area? Thanks for any help.

im rubbish at geography so forgive me if im totally out, but if you put Tyne and wear in the search you get 4 sites back, 2 of which take tents and have a view of the sea
Hi - I think Sandhaven, South Shields, accommodates tents. Ideal site near beach, parks, ice cream parlour, fun fair coastal walks - good luck - Jackied

The nearest site to Whitely Bay that takes tents that I've ever found, is in Ashington, Riverside Park. Tents aren't very popular with site owners I'm afraid.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
