Hi everyone - first post of the season for me being the soft Southerner that I am!

I've been reading posts about wild camping in the UK and wondered if the legal issues apply to camping on beaches as I live on the Isle of Wight near lots of lovely sandy stuff. Obviously, I hope I wouldn't be daft enough to forget about tides!


Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Well the legal stuff doesnt really apply (our laws are different) up here in Bonnie Scotland on the best beaches in the UK.

Sandwood bay is a personal favourite, couldnt be further from you but if you beautiful, clean, romantic beaches......  theres plenty up here!

I've been to Sandwood Bay but I haven't camped there (yet). It's a fair walk (or mountain bike ride) to get to but there are lots of other beaches in the area which are easier to access and would also be fine for camping on. If you don't cause any damage then the worst that could happen in Scotland is that you'd be moved on and even that is very unlikely if you're sensible.
