I have stayed at Holmsley a few times with a caravan, and have also noticed many large tents (dome and frame). It is a good site with good facilities. A couple of pubs and restaurants not too far away. (A nice evening stroll).

------------- Caravan makers should install bigger wine racks.

Somewhere in the reviews somwone mentioned a 1 hour walk to the nearest pub/restaurant. I don't mind a walk but is it really that long a walk to the nearest?
I live down the road from Holmesley. If you are thinking of walking to the nearest pub it is a bit of a hike!!...and would take nearly an hour Going back to the site it is uphill!!....no pavements for part of it either.
You would really need to drive into Bransgore for the nearest Pub.....either The Crown ( Brewers Fayre) or The Three Tuns ( lovely thatched pub but rather expensive) or a little further on is The Carpenters Arms which I gather does good food.
I went to Holmsley this weekend, my first ever camping trip and I'm hooked we had a fab time, we have the Royal Avignon 6 plus and my brother who pitched next to us were in the Vango Vail 700 so no problem with tents. highly recommend, no pubs to stagger home from though it would mean a drive.
