I enquired about booking a trailer tent and dome tent, both with electric hook ups, into the Home Farm campsite in Burnham on Sea, Somerset http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2108 to be informed that they dont accept Dome Tents. No reason was given.  This was to be a family holiday in August, chosen because of the range of facilities on site being suitable for children.  However we will have to re-consider.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  We particularly wanted access to a swimming pool and to be in Somerset.

Quite a few around Cheddar way, use the link at the top of the page and input Somerset and you should find quite a few.

Were going to Unity Farm in July. Weve been twice before and it's fab for kids!

Home farm don't take any tents!! The logo is crossed off! You didn't want to go there anyway it's right next to the M5! Their pitches seemed bit small too!!

Quite fancy Somerset also.   Was thinking of the Old Oaks or Cheddar Bridge. Is there very much to do?

Loads to do around here.  There is Longleat about 40 mins away, Bristol Zoo about an hour, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, of course a whole load of coast in every direction and lovely woodland walks and nature places like Ninesprings and Ham Hill.

Lots of good pubs too so if it is wet go slounge in front of a nice fire with some decent pub grub.  If you like shopping then Cribbs Causeway in Bristol is pretty good.  Just depends on what you like and the age range you are catering for.  Diggerland near Tiverton is great for kids where you get to drive diggers and such like.
