Hi. We are hoping to go away in the caravan for a week around 10th June, just hubby and me, and wondered if anyone knows a lovely site either near Weymouth or in North Devon.
We do like a bit of peace and quiet, but it would be nice to have the choice of going for a drink and listen to a bit of entertainment now and then.
I spent all day reading all the reviews on here, but I am still stumped Useless at making my mind up!
Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
East Fleet is absolutely wonderful and although it is quite a big site is does not feel so due to its layout. The views are gorgeous and the staff are friendly!
we have jsut got back from Hunters Moon caravan club site in Wareham forest it is brill, very quiet, rural site, lots of nice planting, trees and shrubs, good size pitches, clean loos and showers, very friendly wardens, very keen on feeding birds there, in fact we had great tits nesting right next to our pitch! I used to live in Dorset so I know the area quite well, it is about 2 miles from Wareham a pretty little harbour village, about 20 mins to poole, bournemouth, or weymouth, 5 miles to swanage, it is in such a handy location for a lot of places. If you don't like that site there are two non caravan club sites on the same road that loked equally as good, if there is anything else you want to know, just ask. Oh and I nearly forgot, it is easy walking distance of a pub called the silent woman.
Called Eastfleet (lovely people) and they assured us that if we wanted to just arrive and have a look around, and decide to stay, that they will be able to fit us in
So we will give it a go, if we dont like it we can always head off toward Bridport and try Highlands End or something.
Just over a week to go! Better start brushing off the cobwebs
