Thinking of camping in new forest area. Has anyone got advice on campsites?
Looking for a clean and fairly quiet site - not worried about pub/clubhouse. Swimming pool would be ideal.
Like a decent sized pitch and clean loos and showers!
lookin forward to replies - think i am addicted to this site!

Hi, we like Holmsley, it's not far from the centre of the forest but also not far from the beach, its a great site with a shop and park no swimming pool tho, but plenty of walks and lots of ponys right outside the gates. The showers are clean and plentiful or have when we'eve been, and you get to choose your own pitch.
Hope this is a help and welcome.

Shame you need a campsite with loos & showers, we have just got back from Setthorns caravan and campsite in New Milton. Pitches are huge and it's so quiet the only noise was from the birds but there are no loos and showers.
Also stayed at Holmsley last month and had good size pitches but we found being a larger site and on a bank holiday weekend it was noisier than Setthorns.

Wareham forest, not actually the New forest but very close by. Brilliant site, not as full as the new forest sites, has the pool you want and Wareham is a lovely little market town, river etc.You can get in the car and be in the new forest in less than half an hour. Toilets , showers are good too......wendy
