Does anyone know if the Butlins site at Skegness takes tents? We would love to hear from anyone who knows if they do and particularly if you have stayed there. What are the pitches like, the shower facilities etc.
Many Thanks

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Butlins don't take tents. You could try Skegness Sands CC site which has it's own beach access and is within walking distance of Butlins. This site is very well kept...have a look on their web site and the camp site reviews on here.
We are already booked into Skegness Water Leisure Park, but we though if Butlins did accept tents, we would change our plans and go there instead as there would be more to keep the kids occupied.
Does anyone know if Butlins allow people in through the day/evening on a day pass and if so how much would one cost?

i'v been there in the static caravans and there have been one or 2 tents but they dont really have facilities ie like washing areas and hook ups ect. but there are a number of sites just down the road that do.
As far as the "out by six" rule. During the mid afternoon, move your car to the public car park at the end of Butlins opposite to the day visitor car park(near the Beachcomber pub). Then return into Butlins via the beach gate shwoign your day visitor ticket. Stay as long as you want and at 9, 10 or whenever just leave by the main gate and walk up to the public car park to your car.

thanks for that. It definitely works tho does it? We will be staying in the campsite opposite so won`t have to move a car anyway.
OK, If you want to go into Butlins. Walk down to the day vistitor entrance, pay to get in. Leave by the front entrance any time. Think they say six coz thats the time they lock the day visitor gate (a sign in side says "if leaving after six please use main entrance and enter car park from road"). Friends met us twice last week and didnt leave until 9.30-10 both days. There are a limit number of acticities that you may not be able to do after 6 (eg:snooker) but pool is closed anyway and we werent asked for any tickets/passess/keys for the club at all during the entire week.
