We're now looking at going to the New Forest at the beginning of July.  Can anyone help with advise on sites which are grassy but have electric and no statics if poss. Don't know this area at all but would like to feel 'away from it all' with a few comforts thrown in (electricity teehee). Prefer to be able to walk into a village or something too but its not 'that' important.  Also is there any problems with bity flies being in a woody area?

We had thought about Cornwall but its going to be too far if we need to get back early (poorly mum).

Thanks

HI

Do look at the forestry comission web sites, there are loads of sites here in the forest Near me is Holmsley, whilst it is not within walking distance of the village it is a good spot. Has EHU and all amenities. It is big, but you should be able to find yourselves a quiet corner.....

For Caravanners, try Harrow Wood caravan site in Bransgore. Walking distance from three pubs!! ........and the village which has some good local shops. IE Spar/butchers/newsagents etc etc.

Any questions do ask

Hi, i've been to Holmsley a couple of times and would highly recomend it, It is not that close to a village but we have biked it, there is some great walks based around the site and lots of ponys just outside.  There is also a well shocked shop onsite.

The site is also only a twenety minute drive to bournemouth if you fancy the beach.

Try Setthorns near the village of Sway It has no toilet/shower facilities but does have electric hook ups. It's a nice walk through the forest to the village and the butchers there has a great choice of specialised sausages for which they have won prizes. If you are a member of the CC club try, if you can, to get into Black Knoll site a short walk to Brockenhurst and a grat site with amenities. Good Luck The New Forest is great.
