yes, we stayed at one, can't remember what it was called, it is very close by and a great site. Think found on this site. If I find name, i'll get back to you - tip... follow the chap's indicating for you to park in the bus car park. Then you are close enough to nip back to your MH for some lunch and there are some lovely trees to park under! Much nicer than those horrid cafe places in Alton Towers! Plus close enough to have a break cos it's a real long day for young kids.

yes, it is the star. They are listed on here. It's OK, they have a rule of 'lights out' at 10 which is pathetic if weathers nice and we left early cos of their prison like attitude but it has all facilities and is perfectly positioned.

Enjoy your day
Stayed on this campsite twice and had no problems with any rules. I have 5 kids and have been up to midnight before with lights on, quietly of course. This is a wonderfull site and not too expensive.
I Highly reccomend it to anyone.

hi we stayed at this one to, agree with the prison like attitude, kids arent allowed in the park after 9, which in the summer i think is a bit mad, good clean showers tho and nice site.
As a base its great, but dont talk to load after 10, a group of us went (adults) and got moan at 4 talking after 10, but then kids were running around screaming at 6-7 am (playing not crying)!!! I have two kids so fully apreciate the noise levels but these are a bit harsh.

Thanks very much for all your replies, sound like the Star is going to be an ideal situation, will just have to put up with the 'prison rules' for a few days!
Lyndsay, you probably know already but just to say if you've got some Tesco Club Card vouchers you can get your entry tickets with these. Mark and Emma were at Alton Towers last week (had a great time). You definitely want to arrive early so that you can rush to some of the popular rides. Park opens 9.30 and rides at 10am for the public, try to get there around 9am.
------------- Come on if we leave now we can make it before it's dark. How many times have we heard that?
Buy annual passes if you can afford them. Then you go as many times aas you like. Free parking to

Lyndsay, have a look at the sheepwash farm caravan park, about 15 mins from alton Towers, no park but great little site with overflow field for kids to play in
