Hi we had our first trip camping to anglesey last bank holiday weekend.  We stayed at Rhos camping site, you can find it on the search bit here.

We loved it, it is close to a lot of lovely beaches Benllech, Red Wharf Bay and of course a multitude of others lol they have EHU and really clean facilities and is also quite cheap (an added bonus)

We are hoping to go back soon, good luck and whereever you go have a good time

We usually stay just outside Lligwy Bay,but when we have walked round to Moelfre there is a camp/tourer site overlooking the coastal path from Moelfre to Benllech, but I don`t know the address but they are on web-search for camp sites in Anglesey.

hi

I think the one westy is talking about is Golden Sands we used to stay on there when I was a child but I have not stayed on there for a long time I did ring them and they said that they do not take advanced bookings for tents just turn up, now this is a huge site and I cant see it getting full at all.  I am not sure about the facilities there although I know there is no club, pool or bar.

I hope I am right if I am not the please ignore this post lol lol

I have to disagree with the other poster about Rhos Caravan Park. We stayed last weekend. The site has a great location and beautiful fields, but the facilities were filthy and were not cleaned once at all during the three days we were there. Also there was no monitoring of noise, namely a big family group living it large til after midnight. If you can live with this, great, because it is only £12 a night with EHU.

Try Home Farm, near Moelfre. It is a stunning site, really 5*, reflected in the type of people who you get going there (I didn't know such posh caravans existed!). Beautiful facilities, as good as hotel and well segregated pitches. It's not cheap, but not dear, but well worth the money.

Try the little cafe at Moelfre, by the car park, great views for a bacon buttie. Also would heartly recommend The Ship Inn pub at Red Wharf Bay - great place to have a beer, right on the beach.

Anglesey is really, really lovely with the weather.

We will be visiting St. David's parc there in the next few weeks, will let you know how we get on....

awww acemoola I am sorry to hear you had a bad time at Rhos and I am panicking now because we are hoping to go back when the kids finish for the big holidays but we really had no complaints at all it was spotless.

I wonder can you remember what the site across the road was called we may give that a try instead.

cheers

Sorry didn't notice the site across the road at all. Yes, we were very disappointed at Rhos. I could see how when it is clean and policed properly that it is great value for money site. Also they packed in the EHU pitches like sardines. You can live with unclean toilets for a couple of days, but gangs of people being noisy til late at night, would do my head in !
Maybe my experience was a one off. If you can afford it, do try Home Farm, you just cannot fault it. It's the sort of place where you feel that if a blade of grass was out of line (which if probably wouldn't be,!!!!!!you could ask them to sort it out without recourse!)
Hope you get on ok!
Best wishes,
Claire
