Can anyone suggest sites that will take touring caravans in the Dorset, Devon or Cornwall area where you are on the beach? I want just a short walk to the sea as I have small children and need to be able to get back to the van at short notice for bits and pieces.

Thanks,

Steve

Pentewan Sands, Cornwall but you won't be lucky for an EHU pitch until the very end of August, trust me I tried! We've been going there for about 12 years and love it. Doubt that you could get a site closer to the beach coz it's got it's own!

You can access the site info via 23, just click on it and type in Pentewan Sands. You'll also be able to see ukcs members reviews about it too.

It is a brilliant site, especially with kids, so much for 'em to do with the beach right infront of ya and a swimming and paddling pool, not to mention the lovely play area right on the beach. They'll love it.

If you don't need an EHU, you should be lucky for a pitch but you'd better get a wiggle on, coz they go so-o-o-o-o-o-o fast.

Hope you're lucky

Only 8 weeks to Heligan Woods and counting...every bl**dy one of 'em

Hi walenut

Recommend Seadown Charmouth in Dorset. It has its own private walk to the beach about 5 mins.We have been to this site many times, lovely beach.it also has a lovely big green for kids to play without worrying about cars driving in and out and of course kids can play ball etc without worrying about disturbing other campers.

Hi there,

I've just booked here at West Bay, Bridport in Dorset. It says that the beach is 2 mins walk from the park and that the beach stretches for 16 miles from West Bay to Portland (The Jurassic Coast).

Anyway here is the link
http://www.parkdeanholidays.co.uk/touring-west-bay.htm

I can't recommend it as we've not been before and are going on 18th-23rd July. We also have 2 young children so are hoping it will be an enjoyable stay!
