We're thinking of booking for Smytham Manor in Devon for a few days in August. Reviews for 2005 seem really good but just wondering if anyone's been this year and do you have further info.
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Hi - we have just booked to go there for a week next Monday (31st), as we have had to cancel our trip to france (towing car v sick!) - it is only 45 mins from us so a good option. My son camped there with the school for a couple of night s when cycling the Tarka trail and came back raving about how lovely it was. Pool looks superb, new showers, not too expensive and they seemed very very friendly - they give you seventh night free when you book six even at this time of year. If you end up there at the same time as us, seek us out, we are in the walled garden in a Cabanon Stratos with a green BMW tourer. lol Jackie
We stayed there in Sept 2004 and thought it was a very nice peaceful site. Lovely walks near the pond and direct access to the Tarka cycling/walking trail. Didn't try the pool as the weather had cooled too much. Only met one of the owners who was very friendly. Only downside I would say is that you need the car every day whether it's for food shopping or sight-seeing as you can't really walk to anywhere if you are looking for a family holiday. Ideal for couples on their bikes! If you're used to that, fine.
