Dunstan Hill is a nice basic site ,got a little play area for children at the back and is fairly level, stayed there 3 or four times ,but last year couldnt just book a few days in advance because was always fully booked when we tried, probably ok midweek but all the weekends seemed booked up long in advance.
Never been turned away from Warren Mill though yet .
Had a look at Budle bay campsite as well but didnt like the idea of all the chickens scratting about between the units ! so drove straight back out and went to Warren Mill
There is also a little site in Belford , but havent been there for years and years
There is also the other c&c club right on the coast couldnt get nearer than that , never been though and cant remember its name .
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Been to budle bay, like you say the chickens and god knows what else running around is off putting, they perch on the playground eqipment so the kids can't play on it, yuk
I think they're looking to go midweek. Dunstan hill is sounding promosing, quiet like the sound of it myself

Is it Beadnell Bay your thinking of? It is however right on the road. Have to agree with comments on Budle Bay we had one night there, very strange place.
Ord house is quite a nice site, good park for the kids as well and a pub with indoor play area ,that does nice sunday lunches, bit soggy the pitch we had last year though, but that may of been a one off, I would go back there.
Just looked at the wooler site fatlad, looks a nice site, sounds ideal for me never mind them! I don't drive so I find it easier to be within walking distance of shops or a village so it looks ideal for me, I'm finding more info for myself than themv

It's a lovely clean and tidy and safe site. We have a three year old daughter who can play 'in her garden' as she calls it. I don't seem to worry about her playing outside on her own as I do when we go to other sites.
The views from the site are wonderful, I don't even mind being woken up by the sheep every morning, they have also got plenty of ducks that follow you around.
The village is 5-10 minute walk from the site, plenty of shops, Co-Op, chippy, cafe, little gift shops etc, you don't really need a big supermarket, everything is there. There is a lovely little butchers there, perfect for the bbq.
The owners are nice and friendly, guide you to the field and give you the option of where you want to pitch. We left Sophie's coat in the shower room on the way home. They found it and washed it!!!
If it's a nice and peaceful relaxing weekend you are after then I can't recommend this site enough. I think we paid £15 a night for EHU, 2 kids, 2 adults and a dog.
Hope this helps.

We've just moved to near Wooler - it's a lovely place and as mentionned has a good range of small shops and a fab chippy and butchers. Quite a few pubs which do meals but we haven't ventured into them yet.
It's also well placed for driving to the coast and Berwick. Alnwick is also a nice run.
About 10 miles or so miles away near Ford and Etal villages, is the Heatherslaw railway with a little steam train running and other bits and pieces.
