Hi everybody

Fancy going exploring the Jurrassic coast at or around Lyme Regis. Can anyone recommend a nice site within walking distance of the beech.

Hi,

Depends how far you can walk. Both the CC and C&CC have sites within three miles of the beach and there is a big commercial site just outside town.

One thing to watch is the coastal fog that can hang around for a few days, scorching hot inland but a bit brrr on the coast.

I'm sure some "locals" will come up with the goods for you.

Try this at Charmouth which i reckon is a better place for fossil hunting site is right on the beach

Just to let you know that Lyme Regis looks like a building site this year with all the works going on. It will be great eventually but don't be disappointed if it's not as pretty as usual!

Lyme has never looked as pretty as it did thirty or so years ago since Idiot planners closed of the back of the harbour which stopped the sand building up in the bay hence the loss of a glorious beach
