the caravan club site at strid wood, bolton abbey is only about 8mls from skipton, it is set in a wood and has a lovely country lane drive up to it, they accept dogs and there is miles of wooded walks direct from the site (called strid wood) and also along a river it is a lovely site, has clean facilities as you always get with caravan club, but you will be lucky to book it as it is so popular it gets booked up quickly, we loved it and went on many long walks. down the road at bolton abbey itself there is a lovely picnic area and you can get cream teas etc, also a pub.

Howgill lodge is really nice, a challenging approach road, (the bridge is a bit tricky) but quite easy to find, lovely clean site and great sunset over the valley, river wharfe is next to the site, a real pretty site, with shop clean showers and laundry, owner sells gas and wine etc.....
Strid wood is lovely too, but I have trouble getting on.
let me know where you go out of interest, cos i live nr this area and if you go to a diffrent one i would be interested to hear your experience, as I struggle to find one nr skipton thats not up a tricky narrow lane.
------------- As one door closes another one opens.. sometimes you need to spend a little time in the room thats all..
Do whats right and right will become of you ;-) Nichola xx
Another great campsite near Skipton is Wood Nook at Threshfield. Small but very frindly site. Spotless toilets etc. Away from main roads. 2 mls from Grassington. We've been twice. Loved it.
Hope this helps
