We're going here 13th August and was wondering if anyone who has stayed around Hayle/St Ives have had any good days out anywhere. We have 3 teenagers 13-17 and are looking for a few days out, (but son is determined to learn some surfing too). Has anyone been to Lands End recently? I was 16 when I last went, so it has got a bit more commercialised since then I believe.

Tourist Information Offices should have copies of this booklet. Cornwall Guide to the quality attractions 06
A couples of boat trips worth considering - Truro [Malpas] to Falmouth and Falmouth to St Mawes. Scilly Isles by boat or helicoptor from Penzance. Lands End is expensive to park - try leaving your car at Sennen and using the cliff walk round to LE - very spectacular and FREE.
We were at Gwithian at half term. Had a fab day doing St. Michael's Mount in the morning and then doing a mackerel fishing trip from Penzance in the afternoon. Caught over 80 fish. Really exciting! Booked the fishing trip in advance using a leaflet we saw at the campsite. Your teens would love it although quite pricey.
Hi, I tried to book at Gwithian Farm but they were fully booked :(
Lands End has changed since you last visited and is worth a look, more attractions etc.
As to learning to surf I suppose this depends on the sea conditions, but Im sure if you phone Gwithian Farm before your arrival, they will give you all the info/contact details for suitable/registered tutors/schools.
I would love to hear your comments on this campsite after your visit? My husband & I have managed to book 5 nights at 'Little Trevarrack' commencing fromthe 12/0/06.
Have already looked at Flambards and looks a great day out and as my daughter and I work for Asda it's one of their benefits so get in for £6 each, and with my deal vouchers from Tesco's it'll cost us a £1 for all of us to get in. RESULT!
Looking forward to going back to St Ives too!
I will do a review on return, but looking at the one on there already I don't think we are going to be disappointed.

Just back from Helston. Took the oldies, our 16 year old son and his friend. Spent most of our time on Gwithian Beach - dropping the boys off for surfing and then had a couple of hours off exploring. Zennor is a lovely little place.
I would give Goonhilly a miss, very little there. As for Hayle and area I have been going there every year for near on 45 years. Although we holiday at different locations around the country I never fel like I have had a proper holiday untill I have been to Cornwall. Am I sad or what !!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
