I stayed there last summer for one week during August. The facilities were of good quality, although could get busy. There is a bus in to Newquay although we didn't use it. The nearest supermarket is turn right out of site, at the end of the road turn right heading towards Newquay. At the end of that road sharp left and its about 2 miles. My kids used the pool and said it was fine, but we mainly went to the beach (there's plenty to choose from, particularly liked Porth Beach). Again kids went to the evening entertainment and said it was fine, but I didn't go. No problems with noise even though it is literally right next to the little airport. (no night flights that I noticed).
We stayed in our van on a premium pitch so had loads of space, but even on the tent field it didn't look too packed out.
I'm sure you will have a great time it's a beautiful part of the country. We are going to St Austell this year for a fortnight.
