We are planning to go camping just for a weekend from August 4th.
There are 6 families going altogether, 5 of which are new to all this outdoor living.
We all have young children who play on the same football team hence, the weekend break together.
I've tried Conwytouring park which is fully booked for that weekend (they always seem to be fully booked) and dont really want to travel that far with the first timers from Warrington.
We need a site, local ish, that preferably we can book and that we can get 6 tents together.
Wouldn't have a clue where to start looking through the other parts of this website and just hope that someone can give me the name of a site and bingo, its all done.
Thanks

You`ve probably left it a bit late even to get one pitch on a site on a weekend in August, let alone six! Most of the best campsites are booked solid at weekends months ahead, especially in the school holidays.
I think your best bet is to look for a site with a tent field, rather than distinct pitches, and somewhere fairly basic rather than all singing etc.
We pre-booked five pitches together at Black Rock sands for last weekend. We booked those pitches about three months ago. As Val states you may now struggle to get so many pitches in a group

Have you tried Gibraltar Farm at Silverdale Nr Carnforth Junc.35 off M6, Sounds like it would suit, its very basic but fantastic for children to play safe, caves, beach, woods, campfires?
You could always try the old favourite Shell island prop about 2-21/2 hours from warrington ( not sure though) they don't allow bookings so its 1st come 1st served and you can pitch together, We have seen groups pitched in a circle with wind breaks all around so its like their own little village( looks very cosy)
its basic but fun and lots of space for football on the great beach , amazing sand dunes to explore shop and pub on site
good luck and hope you all enjoy it wherever you choose
We went here last August & had a great time.. My hubby says you can easily do this in 2 hours... It's a site within walking distance to Caernarfon so ideal if you don't want to drive..
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
