Just been having a nose on the website of the site we're off to on 12th August and it's sister site to see if there was still any pitches available and guess what?
There actually are!!! And one on Pentewan has an EHU!!!! (Sadly not for the two weeks we have to have, otherwise would have switched!), and then 9 on Heligan Woods where you also have full use of all of Pentewan's facilities.
There's one EHU pitch available from 12th for two weeks but the other 8 are from 19th August-2nd September so if you fancy a get away for the August BH...you can still get on!!!!! Still also got a few non-electric pitches too as they have on Pentewan.
Totally amazed me tbh, as these pitches have usually all gone by now!
Just thought I'd let ya know coz I've seen loads of posts about peeps desperate for BH pitches and let's face it, this late in the year, they're usually about as rare as hens teeth
Woops...forgot to say that you can get an availability check/booking for either Pentewan or Heligan Woods sites by clicking on and typing in the name. Plenty of reviews too

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
My mate and his family are off to Pentewan on 4th Aug for 2 weeks, jammy so-and-so's. I have to wait by the pc for him to stage a pose for a screen capture on the surf shop webcam!
But knowing how hard it is for peeps to find pitches anywhere for BH, I thought I'd mention the few vacancies.
I just l-u-r-v-e Cornwall...everything about it. Oooooh those lucky peeps who actually live there. Wouldn't even mind it when it's desserted in the deep dark winter......and btw...they hardly ever get bl**dy snow! Unlike us here

While in Cornwall last year, I booked for the same weeks this year (August), and had to wait until December to get it confirmed! Fortunately, we got the pitch... it's hard with 2 dogs (many sites allow one per pitch), especially to get near a beach with good surf and dog-friendly... the confirmation arrived on my birthday... the most exciting thing that happened that day!

That is really thoughtful nothing like being on ya own on a campsite, mind you that don't 'appen very much in Cornwall these days.
I totally agree Cornwall is just superb and up until early July we quite often have day trips out to there, only 20 miles from county border, after that it is a nightmare with all the grockles with traffic on the roads at weekends,
2 weeks today and we should be pitched up with a beer or two, in Cornwall of course

Hippy Chick - have you been to Heligan woods before?
We were recommended it, but I can't remember why but I booked Tregarton in the end.
Maybe Heligan only do Sat to Sat? And we wanted to go Weds- Weds 2 weeks.
Yep campergirl, this will be our third time at Heligan Woods. Tbh, I'm not sure if they do only do Sat-Sat coz that's all we've ever gone for but I do know that there's always constant movement right throughout the week there so don't know if some just book Sat-Sat but don't arrive/leave on those days or what?
Will try to find out for you for future reference.
Nice site though, very pretty, quiet, (always good at my age), and clean and tidy, but you can see that in my own review on .
So, you'll just be down the road then at Tregarton then? Looks like a lovely site too and if I'm right...also has a swimming pool? Heligan Woods, doesn't but you do get free use of alllllll the facilities at Pentewan which does have a pool and loads of other stuff including it's own beach of course.
Another good thing for Heligan Woods over Pentewan is that it does take dogs, so if you want/need to take your pooch, it's not a problem. Just means you can't take them on to Pentewan though.
Only 2 weeks and 6 days to Heligan Woods and BOY am I counting...every bl**dy one of 'em
Been in touch with Heligan Woods and they do indeed do Wednesday -Wednesday touring pitches!!!!! So now ya know for future referenceGuess that means that they may not be prepared to let their statics do Wed-Wed though.
Felt a bit daft when the nice chap asked me what dates I was after! Had to say it was just an enquiry for a 'friend'who wanted to know for next year Helpful he was, bless him.
Btw Ha'Penny Slug, what site are goin' to that's near a beach and allow pooches please?
As you mentioned the 'surf', I'm guessing that it may be Newquay way? So don't fret, you're not likely to bump into us as we love MevagisseyI was just curious what site it is, as none that we go to allow you to even make provisional bookings ready for the next year while you're there. So it deserves a good mention
It's this one... Magic Cove at Mawgan Porth... north of Newquay on the way to Bedruthan Steps. Near enough to the beach that we can take down, in one trip, two dogs, a kayak, paddle, helmet etc., a surf board, a windbreak etc. etc.! There's a river running through the side of the beach, so the woofs can get a drink whenever they want, and the best bit about the campsite is they play the radio in the showers! Love it! All last year was singing along with Robbie & Will Young!
It's a great little site... thought twice about writing a review as I didn't want to tell everyone else about it!
