Do any other campers do one night stays? Trying to get a pitch for this Saturday we have been turned away a couple of times because they only allow a minimum of two-night stays. Is this standard practice? One of the attractions of camping to us was the idea that we could drop everything and go to a campsite nearby for a night, with the occasional longer break further away every few weeks. We didn't really get our tent for week long holidays. However, I think we were mistaken thinking we could book the odd night in mid-summer 'if the weather forecast is good'. As we work from home perhaps we should go midweek to sites with wifi!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
ive never had that problem but we tend to do one nighters in may and june, and early july. then have a week away in august.
im sure there are some sites that will have spaces left for 1 night pitches.

Yes we'll keep trying, although Ingers' idea may be an option. I had considered this but thought it might be a bit extravagant for a camper! ;) When compared to the price of staying in a stuffy B&B it's still cheap though.
If you ring early Saturday they often say yes if they have spaces as they have nothing to lose. We have paid for saturday and sunday and left late sunday. I hate these off by 11 sites for a short stop.
