Does anyone know how far away this site is from river, stream or lake.  There doesn't seem to be a park on site and as there will be children with us aged from 6 to 10 yrs just wondered if there was a play area for ball games or anything.

There was no play area when we went and it's about a 10 minute walk into the town and about 5 to the lake. We thought it was a nice site but it does get very very wet and boggy - although presumably not in the current heat! If you look in the "camp site search" up the top of this page, then search Bala, it's the third one down and they have a fairly comprehensive web site. I believe it changed hands a few months ago and it seems to have doubled in price.

There is a more commercial one further along the same road (I think it's Pen y Garth) but that's not walkable into town - and it's all uphill on the way back!
