I'm planning a trip to Cornwall with my girlfriend in late August.

Looking for recommendations for campsites preferably close to beaches, real ale pubs with no barking dogs and kids!

We plan to start looking at Padstow and Newquay, then work down the coast, but would like advice on the best beaches and areas.

Do most campsites need to be booked for an entire week?

Thanks

Hello Bode, We have a meet in Cornwall but Im afraid its now full, and there will be kids and a few dogs going so maybe its not for you anyway. My friend has just returned from Newquay and given me the name of the site they stayed on - small, quiet and only 200yards from the beach - MARVER HOLIDAY PARK, PORTH MAWGAN, NR NEWQUAY.

Peak season I would say you will have to pay for the full week, but ring and ask - nothing ventured........

If you are going at the end of August you might get away with the site just letting you book up the Bank Holiday rather than the full week but you will have to phone around.

Try some of the smaller sites and most of the larger ones will now be full.  It would make looking easier if you don't need a hookup. I managed to get into Halse farm on Exmoor during the August bank holiday for three nights but it is without a hookup.

Hope this helps

Andy
