We've stayed in a static caravan only at Combe Martin but the the area and surronding areas are pretty. If you like drives then go to Lynton and Lynmouth - very pretty and they have the cliff railway there too which is fun. Ilfracombe is only a couple of miles away from C.M and if you go that way, you'll pass by Watermouth Castle, which is an amusement park for kids.
Too many nice places around Newquay to mention but Tintagel isn't too far away. It's a busy village rich in the legends of King Arthur and definately worth a look, then there's Boscastle a little further - that was the place where they had the awful floods a couple of years ago...sorry, just come back from these places, and both are special to me. Getting back to Newquay, you won't be stuck for stuff for the kids, there or outside of the area.
Not far from Burnham (bout 20 miles) is Cheddar and Wookey Hole. Definately worth a visit.
Is great everyone telling me how good the site and the area are, just wish we were going sooner. Only 11 days to go, thats if i can drag myself away from this site its so addictive.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
have just found this great website to save money on days out, (more money to spend on camping stuff, ha ha ha) it has lots of discounts to various attractions in the uk. It costs £15, dont worry i have found a promotional key so its FREE
Hi i have managed to squeeze in a few days 19 - 22 august we store our caravan down there. taking my mum down for a few days as she has never been down there, as OH is not as keen on tin tenting as me. I belive we are on pitch 77 by the bar. say hi if you are passing. I will make a note of your outfits and look out for you all.
------------- A day without wine is a day i'd rather miss !!
may i just ask have you been allocated you pitch by the park or did you request it?
we are taking or tent and have not been allocated a pitch, maybe just caravans.
i hope the weather picks up its like autum here realy windy and rather chilly, i know this will not be the case at Napps as us UKCs ers will bring the sunshine with us, so dont forget to pack it!
Hi Carole, i normally request a pitch if its available. No 28 of there abouts has got the best views. I booked late and they could only squeeze me in for a few days, so I only know what pitch i am on, as when i asked when i booked it. So i would have some idea where to look for my van, as we leave it there and they tow it onto the pitch for us. We just turn up and put the legs down, plug in the electric and make a cup of tea. Sorted.
It is the first time we have left it on a site, we thought we would try it for this year, we thought we might be able to get away more often, which we found we have. plus i can pop down without my OH as i am nervous about towing. The other added benifit is that we have a little Smart car, and just pop down from Bristol in that. Costs us about £6 to get there from Bristol.
