For our first one-night trip. Preferably north.
We are thinking about Cruachan Farm in Killin.
Any other suggestions?

North Ledaig, near Oban?
Argyll Caravan Park, Inveraray?

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!

Looking for a tent pitch, Supatramp.
Had a look at Inveraray and it looks good, but they don't take tents any more
Should also say we have 3 children so somewhere with a play area would be good.

Thanks Jennifer, we were thinking about them. We're only about 15 mins drive from Loch Lomond.
Worried about the midges putting us off on our first trip though!

High Creagan, just before you Cruachan farm has a nice wee camp field and basic but clean facilities. Its ideal if you total peace and quite.

Have you been to Cruachan, tiggarsmum?
Most of the reviews are good, but there are a few people who mention uneven pitches. Should we be worried about that? Don't want a dodgy pitch on our first trip!
Just going to check out High Creagan...

Haven't been to Cruachan, but I have heard some of the pitches are a bit dodgy for bigger tents. Just noticed you have 3 kids so you might find High Creagan a bit boring for them and depending on their age the owner might not book you in as they are uneasy about very young kids in the tent field due to a fast flowing stream from the hills that runs beside it . However theres no harm in checking it out if you are up that way, it could be a possibility for your next trip. If you eventually feel like going further afield Silversands, Arisaig is about the best you will find, right on the waters edge, (see my gallery photos) the kids would love it . Be sure and let us know where you end up.

Craigtoun Meadows was top of the list, but we can't reserve a pitch. I wonder what our chances are of getting one on the day?
