Hi all, just looking for recommendations for a nice campsite. Not particularly bothered about a pub, just nice clean toilets and showers and a good park for the kids (aged 8 &10). Also nice flat pitches.
Also we have the hartford xxl (have yet to use it though), so need big pitches.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

I've found the Lakes a noisy overpriced rip off...You're in Durham and if it were me I'd be going to Wolds Way campsite Nr Malton...Lovely site at the top of a hill very quiet and absolutely spotless. Look at the reviews, must be one of the top sites in the country

We stayed at Gill Farm (or something like that) last year in Glenridding. Basic farmsite but clean facilities and fantastic views. Loved it. This year we tried Hollins Farm in Boot near Ravenglass and it was fantastic. Totally uncrowded, lovely facilities and plenty of space for the kids to run around near the tents. Very quiet at night too and they take bookings which most Lake District sites don't seem to do.

Park Foot is pretty good.
If you want EHU, then you will have to stay in the field below the shop. If you dont need EHU, then the field next to the lake is perfect.
If the weather is good, the views are fantastic.

We stayed in the field below the shop as we wanted EHU. We were camped down the bottom of the field and each morning when we came out of our tent, we were rewarded with a stunning view of the lake.
The scenery is superb,a little piece of heaven on earth.
