About an hour from Blackpool? It might possibly be about that. There is a campsite at Pooley Bridge, just off the M6 near Penrith. We stayed at one called Park Foot and it`s right on Ullswater. There are other sites in the area as well. Not sure about fishing though.
I just read you message and thought I might mention a site in cumbria. It is called Ashes Lane camping and caravanning, and is between Kendal and Windermere just off the A591.This campsite has something for everybody, also it has won many awards from the AA. Oh I nearly forgot, just round the corner from the site is a big coarse fishing tarn stocked full of roach, carp, tench, bream etc, etc. Day tickets are available from the garage just down the road.
def worth a visit is 'riverside' in high bentham. Beautiful site, river running through so kids can fish with nets, take a dinghy, newly built games room and play area. The facilites are all new and extremely clean. Village is only 5mins walk over field, has everything you'll need!. Close to ingelton falls were you'll find a great walk through the waterfalls, and it has a lovely outside pool, and the lakes. Give it a go you'll love it!

Hi, Just come back from the camping and caravan club site at clitheroe. it's a great site at the side of the river Ribble, fishing available from site. Next door is the towns swimming pool and sport centre. Adjoining the site is a park and large playing field, minature golf and a mini railway but the railway wasn't open. There are many countryside walks, the town of cliteroe is interesting, it has a Castle and lots of different interesting shops. Clitheroe is very close to Blackpool, Morecambe etc. All in all we had a great long weekend and wish we could have stayed longer.
Well worth a visit, regards Don, Glennis and family.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
